MAYCON SOARES

I’m Maycon Soares—a tattoo artist and painter originally from Brazil, now based in Columbus, Ohio. I have a degree in architecture from Brazil, but I’ve always been more drawn to the emotional and expressive side of art. While I respect the structure and design of architecture, I found my true passion in drawing, painting, and creating work that feels alive and personal.

Art has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over time, it led me down a path that blended many forms—fine art, tattooing, design. I work across all tattoo styles because I love the freedom of adapting to each idea and the uniqueness of every person I work with. For me, each tattoo is a small story told through skin.

In my painting practice, I work mostly in oils. I draw inspiration from nature, dreams, emotion, and memory—often influenced by surrealism, Renaissance art, and the flowing elegance of Art Nouveau. Nature plays a big role in how I see the world and create; I’m constantly inspired by its colors, forms, and the sense of calm it brings.
